Deutschen Pfest Saturday

Saturday morning, Deutschen Pfest kicks off with a parade down Railroad Avenue to downtown Pflugerville.

After the parade, head over to Pfluger Park, 515 City Park Road for a carnival, live music, food, vendors and more.

Enter Pfluger Park for the food vendors and shopping opportunities. Live music is featured all weekend long featuring great music including polka, yodeling, country, top 40 and more. Saturday headliner is Gary P Nunn. Gary P. Nunn established himself as an icon of Lone Star Music and was inducted in the Texas Hall of Fame. He has been honored by Governor Rick Perry as “The Music Ambassador of Texas”. Nunn’s achievements include awards with several gold and platinum records for writing, publishing and performing. Nunn is an independent music pioneer who continues to oversee his own record label and performs almost every weekend at top music venues throughout Texas and beyond. His new album, TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUTRY, features three new tunes that will have your heart feeling the roots of country music.

Children’s area: A special children’s area is setup in Gilleland Park with a petting farm, kiddie train, inflatables and puppet shows at the east gate of Deutschen Pfest at Gilleland Creek. No wristband is required to participate in the children’s area. At the petting farm children can feed animals of various types. The kiddie train is onsite giving rides around Pfluger Park. Take off your shoes and jump on the inflatables. The children’s area is open from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The 5K Pfun Run and Kids K is May 21 at 8 a.m. through downtown Pflugerville. After the run, enjoy pizza and beer at the finish line and then head to Pfluger Park for the final day of the Pfest.

Deutschen Pfest T-shirt sale: For $12 you can buy a souvenir shirt size S-Xl and $14 for 2XL and 3XL for the 41st annual Deutschen Pfest and receive free admission while wearing the shirt at the Pfest. Youth shirt sizes S-XL are $10. With Friday admission $5, Saturday $7 and Sunday $5 that’s a great deal! Come get your shirt at City Hall, 100 E. Main, or Pflugerville Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road, during office hours. The shirts are also sold at the Pfest.

Rain plan: If a day of the festival must be canceled due to the rain, it will be posted prominently on the city’s homepage and on the Deutschen Pfest page at Please check the website before heading out.

Admission: Admission is $5 on Friday and Sunday, and $7 Saturday. Free admission all weekend with Deutschen Pfest T-shirt available for purchase at City Hall and the Recreation Center. Proceeds support Pflugerville park projects.

Parking: Parking is not available in Pfluger Park for Deutschen Pfest so guests are encouraged to enjoy free parking and free shuttles available from Pflugerville High School (1301 W.
